How many Republicans are going to condemn the war in Iraq during Thursday’s presidential debates?

Cecil T asked:

I’m anxious to see how many of the Republican candidates will distance themselves from George W. Bush and the war in Iraq.

How many of the candidates are going to throw rhetorical fire-bombs at the Bush/Cheney administration?

What is the book about the first thousand days of the Iraq war and lessons learned?

KAR36 asked:

I am assigned to prepare a briefing on this book and I cannot find it anywhere.

I recall that the title has “thousand days” in it and that it is about the Iraq war.

Does anyone know either the title or the author?

Thank you. I have been to five book stores in two different cities and I cannot find it.
It is actually about lessons learned in the first 100 days. That explains why I could not find it.

How did the war in Iraq turn from self defense to an investment?

Lucsha asked:

I thought we went to war to defend ourselves. I watched the media briefing in Washington and the people in charge of the war in Iraq kept talking about our investment there.

Should the US military and government figures responsible for attacking Iraq be charged?

Hidup asked:

As the vultures in the oil companies move today to steal the oil of Iraq should the leaders of the military and government who led the terror attack on Iraq be tried for their crimes? After all it is armed robbery isn’t it?

How should a soldier in Iraq get satellite internet access?

water_skipper asked:

If someone is on an Army base in Iraq, what are the options for satellite internet there? He’s allowed to have a large dish. Would that help? He wants the fastest he can get, but I’d like to know all the options so I know how much it will cost. I’ve heard it’s very expense. Is it hard to set up, like to point the dish at the satellite? He doesn’t need TV, just internet. Obviously an ISP that will do business in English by email instead of by phone is a must.

What is your foremost concern about the Iraq war?

clambacke asked:

1. That the US will leave, before reaching it’s (unexplained)goal
2. That the USA will not leave early enough
3. The debt the USA is getting deeper into, because of the war
4. The escalating power, Al-Queada is getting through the war.
5. That Iraq is distracting from the war on terror
6. That Iraq is distracting from Afghanistan
7. That we getting nowhere
8. That Iraq is distracting from national problems
Or anything else. I appreciate any comment, thank!

Does the cost of the Iraq occupation causes a fragile economy?

James Star asked:

Barack Obama has linked the effects of the cost of the occupation of Iraq to fragility in the economy. Do you agree with him?

Other sources estimate that the cost of the attack and occupation of Iraq will run to $3 trillion. This does not include other defense spending.

How much longer will the American people allow the war in Iraq to go on?

Erudite#1 asked:

The claim that the Iraq war has anything to do with terrorist attacks is wearing thin, as we see what happened in Iraq yesterday.(220 Iraqi people killed)

Saddam was a strong opponent of Muslim religious fanaticism, and a barrier to Osama. Now Saddam is history. The latest reason claimed to justify the Bush war is that we have an obligation to set up a democratic state in Iraq. How much longer will the American people buy this? Will Bush need to invent a new justification to keep his war going until he leaves office? The American troops are dying for nothing. How much longer will the American people put up with our men/women dying?

What would happen if the Iraq war continues indefinitely?

David K asked:

I am interested in how bad the United States would look if it just refused to leave Iraq.
Will some people just want the US to stay in Iraq on purpose to make the United States collapse as a nation economically?
If the United States continues to stay in Iraq it will go bankrupt at some time in the future so maybe Osama and Azawahiri will just love for the US to stay there.
Can the United States, considering the state of the economy in the US, continue to stay in a war WORLDWIDE killing terrorists,Abu Sayaff, Al Qaeda, Tamil Tigers whatever their particular name is ? I don’t think people realize that with the dollar weakening to all time lows that the United States cannot continue much longer at its current pace of war expenditure especially since they are not capable of settling the problems in numerous other countries(Sri Lanka,Sudan,Uzbekistan,Lebanon,Syria,Iran,Etc.)
