How do our troops work to protect the innocent civilians in Iraq?

This question smells a lot like a attempt to Troll.
They do everything they can to the point of putting themselves in danger. This fact is used to the advantage of the enemy who uses tactics based on US troops unwillingness to harm civilians aka sniping from a window while having a 6 year old girl standing in the way because you know US troops wont shoot back.
Of course many people who dont know sh it from shinola are going to come on here and say otherwise.
But I have seen it time and again personally.
